The big debate – Shark or Dyson? Everyone has their preferences which is great, it keeps the world turning otherwise if we all bought the same products it’d be pretty boring. If you love watching Mrs Hinch then you’ll know she loves Shark products too. Anyway here’s my review on the Shark Lift-Away Upright Vacuum.

Shark Lift-Away Vacuum
We purchased our Shark Lift-Away Vacuum a couple years ago now, and obviously since then many new vacuums have been released and I can’t say I’m not a little jealous of those of you that can afford to purchase the most up to date ones! I love a good vacuum! Nothing more satisfying that cleaning your carpet after your dog have been running wild and your toddler has dropped food crumbs everywhere.
Our previous vacuum was specified as a pet one but it was rubbish, no idea why but we just did not get on with it, hence purchasing the Shark Lift-Away Vacuum. It had a lot of a good reviews, and wasn’t as expensive as the Dyson vacuum we were after.
Having said that I would love to try a Dyson vacuum in our house, due to the fact that whilst at my in-laws I used their Dyson to clean up after my toddler made a mess. Would just want to compare between a Shark & a Dyson myself.
Pet Hair & Long Hair
Hair, the one thing that can fuck your vacuum up! Especially mine, it’s thick and long which has caused us a few issues with our Shark-Lift Away Vacuum. Not big issues, just more inconvenient than anything, as after a while too much hair gets wrapped around the bottom and we have to cut it off. Other than that it’s great for pet hair, I always use the Pet Power Brush for the sofas, stairs and the dog bed. I doesn’t ruin the fabric either, whereas our previous pet attachment bobbled our sofa.
This function is perfect for getting in tight smaller spaces, kids room, ball pits, tepee tents etc. Most importantly the stairs! Vacuuming them is the bane of my life, but with the lift-away function it does make life a little easier, as well as using the Pet Power Brush my stairs turn out lovely and fresh.
Pretty use to empty out and clean the filters etc in warm soapy water where I can. Then I just leave to air dry until the next use. Usually the following day as our dog malts a lot. I’m sure there is a specific way to clean your vacuum filters but what I’ve been doing works so I figure it’s okay.
